Second Sky has acquired two cosy romantic fantasy titles by author Genevieve K Thomas. Commissioning editor Sophie Judge acquired world English language rights, including audio, from Kiya Evans at Paper Literary, with the first title scheduled for publication in September 2026.

Set in the enchanting village of Little Sparrow, the debut follows a heartbroken woman who moves into a wonky, magical cottage teeming with unruly creatures, hidden secrets and unexpected charm. As she restores the house with help from a frustratingly irresistible local farrier, she must also decide whether she’s brave enough to believe in love again.

Judge said: “I knew from reading the first few paragraphs that I would absolutely fall in love with this book – and I was right! I couldn’t help rooting for Beatrix as she makes Spellbound Cottage a home for herself, and Angus is such a swoon-worthy cinnamon roll. I’ve been checking property listings daily just in case a tiny cottage in need of some TLC pops up…!”

Thomas said: “I am so delighted that my cosy, cottage-core books have found a home with Sophie and the team at Second Sky. I know Beatrix, Angus and the rest of the Little Sparrow crew are in good hands! I’m so grateful for Sophie’s kind guidance and enthusiasm, and can’t wait for readers to step through the doors of Spellbound Cottage and into the magic.”

Evans added: “I’m so thrilled that Genevieve’s cosy, charming novel has found its home at Second Sky. It truly is a warm cup of tea in book form, and I can’t wait for readers to fall in love with Little Sparrow (and Barnaby the hearth dragon!) as much as I have.”
